Genetics, Dermatology

This course explores a personalized approach to acne management through the integration of genetic testing and targeted therapeutic strategies. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of acne pathophysiology, including sebum production, inflammation, keratinization, and bacterial involvement, as well as the limitations of conventional “trial-and-error” treatments.

The course introduces AcneTest, a genetic test designed to identify individual variations that influence acne development and response to treatment. Learners will explore how specific genetic markers can guide the selection of active ingredients, enabling more precise and effective formulations tailored to each patient. Key pathways such as androgen activity, inflammatory response, oxidative stress, and skin barrier function are analyzed to support evidence-based decision-making. Through practical examples and case-based insights, participants will learn how to interpret AcneTest reports and translate them into personalized treatment plans, optimizing outcomes and improving patient adherence.
