In this Fagron Academy training session, Bruna Marianni and Dr. Carolina Silva introduce the Fagron Advanced Derma concept, focusing on its pharmaceutical and clinical applications.

The course begins by exploring skin characteristics and the importance of the dermal route for treatment delivery, followed by an overview of various pharmaceutical forms used in dermatology. It also addresses commonly used ingredients in traditional dermatological bases that are now considered unwanted or controversial. The session then presents the Fagron Advanced Derma product line and how it can be used for compounded treatments. Finally, Dr. Carolina highlights common skin conditions and discusses how they can be effectively treated using Fagron Advanced Derma bases in daily clinical practice.

Bruna Marianni

Bruna has extensive experience in pharmaceutical and dermatological compounding, and with research and development of innovative ingredients for personalized treatments.

As part of the Global Innovation team within Fagron, Bruna has also authored peer-reviewed publications in the fields of dermatology and pharmaceutical devices.  

Meet your instructor

Dr. Carolina C. V. Silva

Carolina is a pediatrician with clinical experience in medical treatment for children and newborn infants. She holds a master’s degree in health sciences from the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences (NIHES) and a Ph.D. from the Erasmus Medical Center, focused on the early determinants of cardiovascular and brain health. Her expertise includes medical writing, medical translation, clinical research, and the development of innovative personalized treatments. Dr. Silva is the author of various articles involving medicine and compounding pharmaceutical fields.
