Meet your instructor

Dr. Maja Kovačević

Dr. Kovačević graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zagreb and completed her specialization at the Clinic for Skin and Venereal Diseases at the Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Center, where she continued to work, including at the Duduković Kisić Malić Polyclinic. In March 2024, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb, and at the end of December 2024, she ended her employment at the Clinic for Skin and Venereal Diseases at the Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Center. From January 2025, she began working full-time at the Duduković Kisić Malić Polyclinic as a specialist in dermatology and venereology.

In her professional work, she shows particular interest in pigmentation disorders, scalp diseases, medical cosmetology, as well as dermoscopy and dermatologic surgery. As an invited speaker, she actively participates in international scientific conferences in Tel Aviv, Cannes, Dubai, Bangalore, and Kyoto, and has attended training in trichoscopy in Warsaw and melanocyte transplantation in Chandigarh, India. Before and during her specialization, she was engaged in scientific research; she is the author or co-author of thirty-one papers published in indexed journals and has contributed chapters to dermatovenerology books published by Croatian and international publishers. She is a member of the Croatian Society for Dermatology and Venereology, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), the International Society of Dermatology (ISD), the International Dermoscopy Society (IDS), and the European Hair Research Society (EHRS).
