Women's Health

Hormonal transitions such as PCOS and menopause are deeply intertwined with metabolic dysfunction, from insulin resistance and chronic inflammation to weight gain, dyslipidaemia, and increased cardiovascular risk. In this webinar, we explore the shared metabolic pathways underlying PCOS and the menopausal transition, including hyperinsulinaemia, adipose tissue dysfunction, altered body composition, and the rising prevalence of metabolic syndrome and MASLD.

We will examine current treatment strategies - from lifestyle optimisation and HRT to metformin - and focus on the emerging clinical role of GLP-1 analogues in improving weight loss, insulin sensitivity, cardiometabolic markers, and long-term cardiovascular outcomes. Special attention will be given to the potential synergistic effects of combining HRT with GLP-1 therapy in selected patients.
